A look at some Fortnite STW Updates - June 2021

As many of you will know, Epic Games releases Fortnite STW updates on a monthly basis. These updates and additions often contain new packs, new skins and more, and are certainly worth keeping up with, if you want to be experiencing the latest and greatest that the game has to offer.

In this blog post, we will be taking a look at some of the newest releases we saw in the month of June, providing you with additional information on the new items available.

So, what are some of the exciting releases we saw in June?

Fortnite Save the World Lok-Bot Pack

The Lok-Bot pack is a bundle new to Fortnite Save the World, only having been released on June 22nd, 2021.

As the name suggests, the pack is based around a character, the Lok-Bot, whose appearance seems to have been loosely based on Lok, a robot from the original version of Fortnite, much like Ray and Pop, the robots who drive the storyline in Fortnite Save the World and notifies the player of storm data and objectives.

By purchasing the Lok-Bot pack, players will gain access to:

  • The Fortnite Save the World PvE campaign
  • The Lok-Bot hero (usable in Save the World only)
  • The Lok-Bot skin (usable in Battle Royale and Creative modes of Fortnite)
  • The Lok Block Back Bling (usable in Battle Royale and Creative modes of Fortnite)
  • The Lok Pick Pickaxe (usable in Battle Royale and Creative modes of Fortnite)
  • Lok-Bot Challenges - By completing all of the Save the World daily quests offered by this pack, players have an opportunity to earn up to 1,000 V-Bucks and 1,000 X-Ray Tickets

However, it is worth noting that these rewards will only be distributed after a player has completed the Homebase Storm Shield Defense Mission 1 in Fortnite Save the World, and as these quests are classified as daily quests, a player will need to have completed Homebase Storm Shield Defense 3 to have access to them.

At this point, it is impossible to be sure as to whether the Lok-Bot skin will become available separately to Fortnite Battle Royale players in the Fortnite Item Shop at some point in the future. However, as this has been the case with other skin packs in the past, this is a possibility, and it is worth considering if the character’s skin is the main aspect of the pack that interests you.

Lok-Bot Hero Perks

The Lok-Bot is an Epic hero. Its hero perks are as follows:

Standard Perk

Plasma Pulse Blast

When Plasma Pulse is placed, it deals 43 base Energy Damage to enemies in a 1 tile radius. A passive bonus is granted if this hero is slotted in a Hero loadout.

Commander Perk

Plasma Pulse Blast

When Plasma Pulse is placed, it deals 94 base Energy Damage to enemies in a 2 tile radius. This commander perk replaces the Standard Perk if the hero is slotted as the Commander.

Class Perks

Kinetic Overload

Melee knockbacks and staggers trigger Kinetic Overload, dealing 25 base Energy Damage to nearby enemies. After melee critical hits, increases Melee Impact Damage by 10% for 5 seconds, up to 5 stacks.

B.A.S.E.

Place B.A.S.E. to reinforce attached structures with 60 Armor. Extends 4 segments from placement. Placed from trap wheel.

Lok-Bot Hero Abilities

A breakdown of the Lok-Bot's hero abilities can be found below:

Plasma Pulse

Cost: 40 Energy
Cooldown: 45 Seconds
Deploy a device which spews plasma mines for 6 seconds. Each mine deals 16,526.9 energy damage.

Bull Rush

Cost: 20 Energy
Cooldown: 15 Seconds
Charge forward 3 tiles, dealing 37,365.2 physical damage to enemies and pushing them away with your shield.

DECOY

Cost: 20 Energy
Cooldown: 15 Seconds
Deploy a D.E.C.O.Y. which distracts nearby enemies for 6 seconds. Does not affect mist Monsters or Bosses.

Fortnite Battle Royale players will certainly see the benefits of opting for this pack, as not only will they receive the aesthetic benefits that are usable in Battle Royale and Creative such as the Lok-Bot skin, the Lok Block back bling and the Lock Pick Pickaxe, they will also gain access to Fortnite Save the World. Additionally, as players have the ability to earn a large sum of V-bucks by completing the challenges that come with this pack, it may not be considered as much of an investment! If you are interested in what a pack can offer you, take a look through our accounts and codes section.

Which heroes are coming to the event store?

July has seen many incredible heroes making an appearance on the event store! Take a look through the list to see what some of these awesome characters look like, and acquaint yourself with their perks!

Tricera Ops Ramirez

Tricera Ops Ramirez is a Legendary hero of the Soldier class. The female counterpart to the Rex hero, her dinosaur outfit makes her a part of the Dino Guard Set. Her standard perk is Saurian Vigor, which enables players to restore 2.125% of their max health every 5 seconds. Her commander perk is Saurian Vigor+, which heals 6.375% of max health every 5 seconds.

Star-Spangled Headhunter

Star-Spangled Headhunter is a hero of the Soldier class. A versatile, USA-inspired hero, she has an incredible range and damage potential. Her standard perk is Spoils of War, which gives her War Cry ability a 25% chance for each shot to cost no ammo. Her commander perk, Spoils of War+, turns this chance into 50%.

Patriot Penny

Patriot Penny is a hero of the Constructor class. Another hero following the Fourth of July, USA-inspired theme in her clothing, Patriot Penny is incredibly powerful. Her standard perk is Emergency Override, which resets the Bull Rush Cooldown ability when your shield depletes. This occurs once every 12 seconds. Secondly, her commander perk is Emergency Override+, which does the same, but means that your next Bull Rush will cost 0 Energy. This occurs once every 5 seconds.

Old Glory A.C

Old Glory A.C is a hero of the Outlander class. Another of the stars and stripes, Fourth of July heroes, Old Glory A.C’s baseball cap and sneakers make him one of the cooler-looking, casually dressed characters you can play with! Old Glory A.C’s standard perk is Impossibility Matrix, which means that spending a Charge Fragment reduces T.E.D.D.Y and Shock Tower cooldown by an additional 10%. If a player slots this hero as the commander, his commander perk, Impossibility Matrix+ will come into play, which does the same, but by an additional 30%.

Stars and Stripes Jonesy

Stars and Stripes Jonesy is a hero of the Soldier class, and the last of the patriotic-looking heroes that were originally created to celebrate Independence Day in the USA. For his standard perk, Stars and Stripes Jonesy uses Assault Ammo Recovery, which causes assault weapons and SMGs to have a 24% chance of refunding ammo every shot. His commander perk, Assault Ammo Recovery+ performs in the same way, but the chance doubles to 48%.

Ankylo Kyle

Ankylo Kyle is a hero of the Constructor class. Immensely tough, he is the perfect hero to select when engaging in survival-esque, melee combat. We think he has his giraffe suit to thank for that! Ankylo Kyle’s standard perk is Saurian Grit!, which causes the ability Kinetic Overload to heal 2.125% of a player's max health. Saurian Grit!+, his commander perk, triples this percentage, taking it up to 6.375%.

Prehistoric Izza

Prehistoric Izza is a hero of the Constructor class. She takes much less damage than most other characters, making her a great option if you are hoping to play a tank-style role. Prehistoric Izza’s standard Perk is Saurian Hide, a perk that increases a player’s armour by 33 when their shield is depleted. In much the same way, her commander perk, Saurian Hide+, increases a player’s armour by 100.

Whiteout Fiona

Whiteout Fiona is a hero of the Ninja class. Bearing a strong resemblance to Topgear’s The Stig in her full-white racing suit and white helmet, Whiteout Fiona is the perfect hero selection for hand-to-hand combat using melee weapons. By default, Whiteout Fiona’s standard perk is Anatomy Lessons, which increases a player’s critical rating of swords, axes, and scythes by 15. Her commander perk, Anatomy Lessons+, increases the same rating of these weapons by 45 - three times the amount!

Jurassic Ken

Jurassic Ken is another hero of the Ninja class. He is another of the dinosaur-style heroes, but his bionic-looking legs throw some technology into the mix! Jurassic Ken’s standard perk is Saurian Fight, which increases a player’s ability damage by 20% while their shield is depleted. His commander perk, Saurian Fight+ performs in the same way, but triples this rating, raising it by 60%.

Make sure you keep an eye out for each of these heroes on the Event Store!

Thanks for reading, and happy questing!
